A restorative program founded on supporting culture and land-based healing for individuals who have entered a cycle of involvement with the justice system or risk-to-life activities and ongoing struggle with their mental health and addiction illness.
Objectives
To co-create and implement a mental health/justice and community restoration program/healing camp.
To provide the opportunity for participants to develop a connection to the land and their culture through land-based healing that addresses the root issues of recidivism and creates self-empowered, tailored reintegration programming that supports individuals.
Provide a safe traditional environment for all people, including Anishinaabe men, women and youth, who can gain Mino-bimaadiziwin to be healthy and grounded in their culture, language and Teaching to thrive as individuals, family members, and members of their communities.

Improve the mental health and well-being of the Anishinaabe people by increasing traditional knowledge and enhancing cultural identity through holistic and land-based mental health services and prevention supports.
To create a cultural model to offset the negative impact of the western modality that focuses on punishment, blame, and guilt and tends to be associated with a stigma that holds challenges for reintegration.
​Improve outcomes and opportunities for successful reintegration of participants through a collaborative and transformed relationship model with community-based and regional organizations and service providers.
To identify and support personal goals, which are responsive and restorative to the individual need of the participant. Focused on internship/mentorship, building on strengths, developing skills, and moving beyond the trauma and past events through a team/family approach that helps individuals build self-worth and confidence.
