Francis Kavanaugh Re-Elected as Ogichidaa Grand Council Treaty #3 Grand Chief

In a historic and traditional selection process held today in Wauzhushk Onigum Nation, Francis Kavanaugh, from Naotkamegwanning First Nation has secured his fourth term as Ogichidaa Grand Council Treaty #3 Grand Chief.

Province commits half a million for Grand Council healing space

The Ontario government announced it will be providing Grand Council Treaty #3 with $495,000 to construct an all-season roundhouse lodge at Bug Lake’s Gamikaan Bimaadiziwin healing centre.

Rickford announces $1.4 million for 3 major Kenora projects

Rickford, Ontario’s Minister of Northern Development and Minister of Indigenous Affairs toured the area to announce $1.4 million in work through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, all aimed at improving the quality of life in the Kenora community.
